Destroy Your To-Do List: How to Set Daily Goals To Get More Done

If you’re going to get anywhere in your day, you need a little focus.

Here’s how to get it:

1. Every night before bed choose the 3 things you’d like to get done the next day.

Yep, just three! The most important three. If you only get these three things done you can die happy. Those kind of things.

What is the next thing you need to do to move your business forward, restore your health, be fit, have a meaningful relationship, earn more money?

By answering these questions you’ll know what needs done next.

Recently, for me, it was to look at my supplement regimen to see if I could find why I was not feeling as good as I had been. I’d been putting it off for weeks for no good reason. By putting it on my Top 3 list I did it and felt better within a couple days. Awesome!

Here’s my Top 3 for today. Notice I do a Top 3 for Personal and Business. It’s not necessary, but I just like to keep my life balanced (haha).

Although some of these things don’t seem like BIG goals for the day, they have been giving me stress by not doing them. One of them just needed started so I could begin a new habit that was important to me. And Bethany and her baby bear were in some desperate need of Mommy time.

2. Write them down and keep them visible.

I’m lucky because I have access to lots and lots of chore/task charts that I developed and have in my store. So of course you can go there to pick up a set if you like. Or…

Just use a small dry erase board, picture frame that you can write on with dry erase markers, or just a piece of paper you can tack up on the wall where you’ll see it often.

Magnetic wet erase chore/task charts can be used in may different ways and hang up anywhere.

3. Be proud of yourself!

This is a step you don’t want to skip. By telling yourself, “Hey, I got all the important stuff done today,” you are ensuring you’ll come back again tomorrow for another dose of get-er-done.

And if you only had a finite amount of health, energy, or time, you could find a way to be content in what you did complete. This is a good lesson for over-achievers.

The only thing that comes close to a job well-done is a job done.

    I just finished updating our family’s vitamin/supplement regimen. I REALLY don’t enjoy doing this. It takes about an hour to do but it requires a lot of mental focus and decision-making so I put it off way too long sometimes. When it made it to my 3 daily intentions then it got done!
